It shows up that our players are in good shape when we play our first games of the season and it can be attributed to our players and coachs hard work.

This is what Cal has to say about his returning players camaraderie and emotion.

"They all get together and you can see the — not only camaraderie, but there’s some emotion between them and there’s feelings between them. That’s what this is about," Calipari said.

"You know people will say, ‘Well, you got to have four years together.’ They’d probably get sick of each other after four years, but I do know this: what they went through for that season, including now they’re running down Dom and Derek, they’re hanging out with Tyler and Marcus Lee, you see.

"And then how they react to each other, they’re going to be in — it was funny where Karl, which he did foul a lot in those summer league games. If they had nine fouls a game, you’re going to be fine when you start playing. Did you foul Trey or did he foul you? That you started laughing at each other? You see them laughing about it, and you know that they’re brothers.

The season kicks off with home games on back-to-back days for the first time since Dec. 6-7, 2008. UK will open the year against America East champion Albany on Nov. 13 before hosting NJIT the following day. The Highlanders are a CollegeInsider.com semifinalist and a team that upset Michigan in Ann Arbor a season ago.

The Wildcats will venture to Chicago for the Duke contest before returning home to host Wright State (Nov. 20) and Boston (Nov. 24) for the second consecutive season. A matchup with Illinois State concludes the month of November, while UK will have three home games in the month of December beginning with the second consecutive meeting against EKU on Dec. 9.
