He is going to be a very special player for the Cats this coming season.

Not only does New Jersey guard Isaiah Briscoe have the skills to be a hit at Kentucky, but his high school coach says his demeanor could be perfect for UK’s passionate fan base as well.

“He’s a great kid, he really is,” said Roselle Catholic coach Dave Boff. “We have had some very talented basketball players here and he certainly is the most talented, but also the one that received the most publicity and requests of his time. Just the way he handles it is amazing.

“He really does a nice job with all those things. What people will find is he will never turn down a picture or autograph request. If a little kid invites him to a birthday parent, he’s liable to show up.”

Here is a interview with Briscoe after the Jordan Brand basketball game. He sounds like a sharp down to earth player that has a head on his shoulders.

He said he enjoys hearing a big crowd get into the game. He'll have plenty of that to feed on come this fall at Rupp.

I think Briscoe and Kentucky is a match made in heaven. He is going to be a fan favorite from the get-go.

Are we going to see a lot of dual point guards on the floor at the same time this year?

Actually, Ulis is a really good three point shooter and I don't think it would hurt a thing to have both of them on the floor. It might be like a boat with two captains, though.

Not only will we see our point guards on the floor at the same time I think there is a good chance that our two point guards may be our "starters". It's going to be hard keeping both Ulis and Briscoe off the court and we easily could see them starting. It will give our opposition some problems as not only are they both talented enough to play the point they both can shoot the three as good as anyone. It will give our opposition a lot of problems and make it easier for our bigs down low. It they get open you can bet our guards will get them the ball with their point guard skills.

Briscoe will surprise a lot of us with his outside shooting too. Hopefully this this team is going to be a lot better than many think.
