How is Bobby Knight coping with UK’s pursuit of perfection? Just as badly as you might expect. According to Tony Kornheiser, Knight declined to come on “Pardon the Interruption” today to discuss the probability of Kentucky going 40-0.

Knight, of course, was the head coach of the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers, the last team to turn in a perfect season. His contempt for John Calipari is well-known, going back to 2009 when he said this of John Calipari at a fundraiser for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame:

“We’ve gotten into this situation where integrity is really lacking and that’s why I’m glad I’m not coaching,” he said. “You see we’ve got a coach at Kentucky who put two schools on probation and he’s still coaching. I really don’t understand that.”

There are a ton of hoosier fans that would kiss his feet like he is their king. They don't see the man that can not control his temper and who throws chairs and berated his players. He is like a cult leader and they are his blind sheep.

I agree, I know some of them personally. Even the ones who claim to be Christian never felt his demeanor and language was inappropriate!

What's crazy is that he is acting like he is the ONLY one to go undefeated. He was just the last! Wooden did it more than him and before him.

To be honest, it's probably best that he avoids interviews. Maybe he realizes that he will say something really stupid.

Last time he went out to pasture he shot his hunting buddy.... Maybe someone should remind him that IU has been on probation TWICE since the CATS last saw any kind of issues....
