TREY LYLES IS A SPECIAL PLAYER.

I think every single one of these boys is pretty special in their own way!

Coach said in his post game tonight that Trey was just now coming into himself!

Lyles best game of the year by far.

He needed a game like this and would bet he will have more like this or better in the near future. Confidence is a heck of a asset.

HE keeps playing like that and he'll play himself into the first round of the draft!

Here is Lyles season stats: PPG 7.9 RPG 5.1
APG 1.3

Yeah but you know they draft on potential!

Sometimes yes but not all the time.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-26-2015, 02:20 PM:

Any more it seems they do, take Daniel Orton for example!

Orton has made a lot of money, probably more than most graduates playing professional basketball. I just hope he invested his money wisely. He signed for a million dollars in his first year.

Yeah, but what did he average in college, 5 points a game?

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-26-2015, 03:08 PM:

He evidently impressed Orlando as he was drafted #29 Overall in the 1st Round of the 2010 NBA Draft.

Orton averaged 13.2 minutes per game and averaged 3.4 pts per game in his one year at UK. I think everyone was shocked that he was a first round draft pick, even shocked that he chose to leave college after only one season. BTW, he is the only Kentucky player to leave as a freshman to leave UK after one season without completing the second semester of his freshman year. He dropped out of school as soon as the basketball season was over. He was actually a Billy Gillispie recruit who chose to come to UK even with the change of coaches to Coach Cal.

I was very disappointed when I heard he didn't complete his second semester

I think that was a shock and disappointment to a lot of people.

It didn't make sense why he would want to hurt the program that brought him in

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-27-2015, 01:19 PM:

I was surprised with those numbers he had that anyone would want to take him!

I am hoping Trey has another big game against Arkansas.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-27-2015, 01:23 PM:

I think he will. COach says he's the X factor now!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-27-2015, 02:18 PM:

I think he will get more touch's and will be a lot more aggressive looking for his shot.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-27-2015, 02:19 PM:

I can see our point guards getting more assists because of Lyles being more aggressive.

As long as he doesn't think he's a three point shooter!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-27-2015, 11:12 PM:

Since we have "2" capable point guard it doesn't hurt if either Ulis and Andrew shot a few 3 pointers if their open. It keeps the defense honest and it opens up the passing lanes.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-27-2015, 11:15 PM:

I would bet both points will get minutes as playing a team like Arkansas that runs like they do will keep us busy all game.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-28-2015, 08:30 AM:

No I meant hopefully Lyles won't go back to thinking he is a three point shooter!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 09:55 AM:

I am sure Trey will!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 09:56 AM:

I just think he has lost his confidence shooting three's.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 09:56 AM:

Trey has to good a stroke not to be a decent 3 point shooter. imo

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-28-2015, 10:08 AM:

Tell me, do you cringe every time Lyles attempts a three?

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-28-2015, 10:17 AM:

You are right though, 15 feet in, he's almost automatic!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 01:48 PM:

To be honest, yes I do but he seems to have good form on both his free throws and his short jumpers. I think he tightens up on his 3 point shots.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 01:49 PM:

I'm sure the coachs have to be working on his form shooting 3's.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-28-2015, 02:22 PM:

Yeah, it's good to se Trey improve on his FT's!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 03-01-2015, 09:23 AM:

He is improving on all of his game except his 3 point shooting needs to get better.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 03-01-2015, 01:46 PM:

When was the last time he attempted a 3?

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 03-01-2015, 02:53 PM:

Let's just say it's been awhile, as it has to be at least a month and probably more.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 03-01-2015, 03:19 PM:

He attempted 2 in the South Carolina game! Missed both!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 03-01-2015, 11:52 PM:

Lyles will get it down just give him some time and when he does he is going to be that much better and hard to guard.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 03-02-2015, 05:03 AM:

He's still just a teeneager

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 03-02-2015, 11:46 AM:

Lyles is only going to get better with time. It might not be a bad idea to stay another year before heading to the NBA at his early age.
