Im looking to get tix for the second or third round of the tourney here at the Veterans Memorial Arena. I probably will anyway for the Thur nite or Sat game...any thoughts as to if UK may play here?

It is the current guess of most right now think ky will go from Louisville to Cleveland for the tourney

I know I wouldn't mind if they came to Jacksonville but after seeing what they want for them would rather see it on TV.

If we get the Midwest, It'll surely be Louisville. The regional semi's and Finals are in Cleveland for the Midwest. The final four is in Indy!

The Midwest would work out great for us.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-25-2015, 06:47 PM:

Especially for the traveling fans. Cleveland is only 5 hours away!

Let's face it wherever we play Cat fans will be there.

We got the Midwest #1 locked up. Duke will probably get the South so if you want to see them you can go to Jacksonville for the sweet 16.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-25-2015, 11:34 PM:

Don't think that will happen Bama even if it was a free front row seat.

Posted by rupps runt65 (Member # 1286) on 02-26-2015, 05:18 AM:

Your right CMD those seats have steep prices even for nose bleeds.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-26-2015, 06:19 AM:

Yeah if it weren't for the ticket prices I could see myself sitting in Lucas Oil Field in early April!

I got invited to Atlanta 10-12 years back when we went in and dropped the first game in the SEC Tourney. The friend had 4 tickets to every game and we only watched the one game with UK and never went back after they lost. The lady got the tickets for free through her work but the price was out of this world just for the SEC tourney.

NCAA tournament ticket prices have really ruined it for the average person and that is a shame. It's only the very wealthy that have the opportunity to see the games.

I was told this morning that a book for the entire weekend at Nashville would cost $800. Just for tix!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-26-2015, 01:52 PM:

That's if you can them for that price and the seats won't even be that good!

The arena in Nashville isn't as big as Rupp though, is it?

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-26-2015, 11:23 PM:

MH, I don't think any of the games will be played in Nashville. The finals will be played in Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis). I think for basketball they can seat 41,000 in Indy.

I thought we were talking about the SEC Tourney here, MY BAD!

MH It sounded like you knew it was the NCAA tournament in your first posts.

They told me years ago I'd lose my eye site. I laughed, I'm not laughing anymore. I can't read anything without my glasses

Indianapolis is a great plays to play tournament games. The best part for UK fans it's close to home.

The only bad thing is, domes have terrible site line because of distance from the floor.
Years ago the RCS Dome, they would set the court up in one end zone (of the football field) and seat between 40 & 45,000 people!
Now they try to put 72,000 people into that arena!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 10:01 AM:

If that's the case we are lucky not to be going as we will see the game right up and close on TV.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 10:01 AM:

It won't cost a arm and a leg either. [Wink]

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-28-2015, 10:11 AM:

I'll go up on Friday, when it's all free!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-28-2015, 10:12 AM:

Except for the concessions and souvenirs!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-28-2015, 10:13 AM:

Oh, and parking. I will have to pay to park that day!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 01:38 PM:

Friday is the best time to go as it is free.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 01:40 PM:

You probably have a ton of souvenirs.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 01:41 PM:

I bet parking won't be cheap.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 01:42 PM:

I bet it's next to impossible to even find a place to park.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 02-28-2015, 01:43 PM:

You had better get there real early if you go.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-28-2015, 01:46 PM:

I'm early every where I go!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-28-2015, 01:48 PM:

In '97 when the Cats were in the Finals at INdy, my brother and I were standing outside the dome 2 hours before it was supposed to open. (We didn't know what time it opened). My brother almost ran over top of CM NEwton as seating was carnival and we sat mid-court front row beside of PAt Forde!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-28-2015, 01:49 PM:

There were only 10 people standing around outside the arena when we first go there and all of them were KY fans!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 02-28-2015, 01:50 PM:

MY daughters always hate that we get to Rupp an hour or 2 before the arena seating opens up for us. I tell them we all have to leave together but we don't have to arrive together!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 03-01-2015, 09:18 AM:

The best time is when it's free

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 03-01-2015, 09:19 AM:

I wish I could join you but the drive is a bit long. [Wink]

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 03-01-2015, 09:20 AM:

MH, It sounds like you want to always be early and nothing wrong with that when it's UK game. [Wink]

I have a lady at church that asked me if I own any clothing beside KY stuff? I said I guess I could go naked!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 03-01-2015, 02:40 PM:

It doesn't bother her, she just kisses me bye whenever I leave. I make my own lunch and fix my own breakfast While she sleeps!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 03-01-2015, 02:41 PM:

SHe falls back to sleep after I lever. She doesn't have to get up for another hour usually!

MH I don't think it would proper to go naked, best to wear your UK clothes.

Nah, I'll keep wearing my UK BLUE!
I was harassing a fellow Wildcat fan at church this morning, he was at yesterday's game, he was wearing red today, and I told him he should be ashamed of himself. [Big Grin]
He laughed, by the way.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 03-01-2015, 11:57 PM:

Now I see why you have to make your own breakfast.
[Smile]

Glad to hear he is listening to his doctor and also it's good to hear his company is letting him take that much time off. Usually companies expect their employees back and find work for them that doesn't affect their injury.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 03-03-2015, 03:09 PM:

No, once his Dr. releases him then he has to see our Company Dr. before he can be released to go back to work

I'm sure you have a good company doctor too.
