Draft Express now has Booker listed as high as 14th on the latest draft board. His shooting is going to make him A LOT OF MONEY some day!

I'm not sure who they are comparing th etalent too. How do they know for a fact who is and who isn't coming out of the NCAA early?

If Booker keeps playing the way he has been he will be in the top ten before long.

He's shooting himself to the top!

Yep, he really is shooting himself to the top.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 01-26-2015, 09:22 AM:

He is 46% from the field and 50% from the 3 point line.

He also is 80% from the 3 point line.

The one thing we have to remember though is that he hasn't really shot the ball that much which skews his stats.

Trey brought up some good numbers about smaller players like Ulis and his chances of making it to the next level. His size has restricted his playing time even this year playing for the Cats.

There is a lot more to playing the point other than shooting and that is a big reason why Andrew at 6'6" gets the most minutes.

It's going to be interesting in watching Ulis's career with the Cats as it may end up being longer than many of us are thinking.

If Trey is right no NBA team will draft him in the first round especially at as a freshman and his 5'9" height. There is just to many talented bigger players out there.

Here is another recruiting service that has him ranked 36th in the upcoming draft.

WHAT DOES BOOKER DO WHEN HE GETS TO THE LEAGUE, LORD HAVE MERCY THEY ARE A DIME A DOZEN IN THE LEAGUE LIKE HIM, AND ULIS WILL BE AT KY 4 YEARS AND STILL NOT GET DRAFTED IN FIRST ROUND IMO, AS GOOD A COLLEGE PLAYER AS HE IS. NBA IS A DIFFERENT CAT.

I can not see how anyone can rate players like Ulis who has only shot the basketball 70 times from the field, 36 times from the 3 point line and 10 times from the free throw line.

CMD JMO ULIS IS A 4 YR. GUY, AND BOOKER A 2 YR. GUY. MAYBE 3.

Ulis may never be a NBA player but I sure can see where Booker could be.

Posted by Green-Bean (Member # 13551) on 01-26-2015, 10:08 AM:

OH YEAH BOOKER WILL BE A NBA PLAYER, BUT ULIS WILL JUST BE A GREAT COLLEGE POINT GUARD, AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT PROBABLY WILL SET ASSIST RECORDS.

Heavens no, GB. Ulis is a wonderful point guard and love him to death. I enjoy watching him play more than anyone and hope I am wrong and he has a great NBA career. Just don't think it will happen.

I really think his size will prevent him from a long,(if any) career.

A beloved PG for an historic program like the CATS and possibly a National Champion can have a long and well paying career in any of a dozen overseas leagues......... The NBA is the dream for every one of these kids....... but playing for money in any league still pays better than 21 years on the Bomb Squad..... Just Sayin

Hell, my first job was as a vets assistant for Ringling Brothers/Barnum and Bailey Circus.... one of my very first chores was doing circumcisions on elephants....... It didn't pay too much, but the TIPS were real big.. [Wink]

^^^ I agree. A boy from our community has been pitching baseball i Japan for the last 7 or 8 years. Someone tells me he really didn't make it. He recently signed a 1 year contract for 1.5 Mil. Now you tell me he didn't make it. I'd love to get paid that kind of money to work every 4 to 5 days playing a game!

If he can just get a NBA team that wants to give him a tryout to see how he performs against NBA talent he could make some very good money. It's a possibility and hope it does happen.

With Cal's connections, there should be no reason that he wouldn't get looked at!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 01-27-2015, 09:31 PM:

Ulis will get a look Cal or no Cal. That doesn't mean that he will be picked up by a team however. Lot of difference a tryout and a contract.

There's a lot of foreign money to be made if he can't make it in THE League!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 01-27-2015, 11:04 PM:

Foreign basketball is a option but the NBA is his dream and more power to him in trying to make his dream come true.

No doubt that's every kids dream. Growing up in school out on teh play ground you dream of hitting a big shot and making money doing it!

We probably have 10 players on this years roster that have a legit chance to become good enough to make money playing basketball. They may not all make the NBA but in todays times there are other options.
