We don’t talk about UK’s first 2015 commitment Charles Matthews that often, but UK fans will have a great chance to get to know him better tonight. Matthews and his St. Rita squad will take on Simeon at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2 as part of the Geico ESPN High School Basketball Showcase.

Obviously, the game is in Chicago, as is the Kentucky team, so there’s a very good chance Calipari and the squad will make the trek to Moraine Valley Community Collegein in the Palos Hills suburb of Chi-town to see the future Cat play. If they do, I can guarantee you we’ll have pictures on the site.

He's a very athletic very versatile player. WOrks just as hard on the defensive end as he does on the offense

The young man has great leaping ability!

Hope he can shoot as good as he leaps.

He is a 4 star player that is rated 87th best by Scout.

HE wasn't the most impressive player I've ever seen, by the same token, the announcers said this young man wouldn't be a one and done type player!

The young man probably put forth more effort than any other player on the floor last ngiht

He isn't rated as high as most other recruits Cal signs.

It's good to hear his effort is good.

I can see he where he would be a very good defensive player but it sounds like he would be more of a specialist and not a starter.

He plays so unselfishly that it's hard to say. He'll definitely make a good team mate. Doesn't necessarily look to shoot first.

If Cal thought so highly of him to offer him a school that early he must be awfully good.

I also didn't remember where the McD's game and the Nike Hoop Summit were played this year!

It's going to be fun watching his career at UK. I hope he does well as the competition for minutes is pretty competitive.
