Wisconsin up by 3 with 4 minutes to go.

Wisconsin has shot 25 free throws to the Hoyas 10.

I noticed how one-sided the calls were when I was watching.

66-64 Wisconsin 50 seconds to go.

68-65 with 13 second and the Hoyas have the ball.

Norm the game stats sure favored Wisconsin.

It was a good game and the Hoyas are a pretty darn good team.

I kind of figured Wisc would end up squeaking this one out.

It always seems that certain teams find a way to win just when you think they are going to lose.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-27-2014, 05:59 PM:

For sure Wisconsin is rated number 3 in the country.

Is Georgetown still in the Big East Conference? After the Conf shakeup here a year or two ago I never know who is in what conference anymore.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-27-2014, 06:01 PM:

They also shot 14 more free throws than the Hoyas

Posted by SCWC (Member # 2464) on 11-27-2014, 06:03 PM:

Georgetown are still in the Big East. Butler is one of the new teams in that conference and Villanova, Rutgers, St Johns etc are still big east also, I don't know all their teams yet. Wisconsin did get every call in that game and I am no Georgetown fan. Jay Williams, the Dukie announcer that does the in studio stuff picks Wisconsin to win it all this year, nothing about our Cats. ESPN is filled with announcers with Duke backgrounds, I will be better off muting them out in the future. I like Bilas but he is even starting to get under my skin.

D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera scored 29 points for the Hoyas but it still wasn't enough

North Carolina and UCLA play at 7pm in the Bahamas tournament, both lost their games last night and are playing in the losers bracket today.

North Carolina winning at half time 43-29!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-27-2014, 08:15 PM:

Carolina shot 40% from the field and 25% frm the 3 point line compared to UCLA who shot 40% from the field and 12% from the 3 point line.

North Carolina should be a very tough team to beat this year!

UNC now up 17 on UCLA

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-27-2014, 08:44 PM:

UNC has stretched the lead to 23 points. Something tells me UCLA falls out of the top 25 after this week

UCLA ended up shooting only 13% on their 3's.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-27-2014, 09:02 PM:

North Carolina to their credit had 13 steals and 15 assists which are good numbers.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-27-2014, 09:07 PM:

Norm earlier was talking about how North Carolina was getting the calls and it doesn't look like that changed as the ended up shooting 15 more free throws than UCLA and it was played on the west coast.

The ACC teams always see to get the calls.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-27-2014, 09:12 PM:

I'm not sure that UCLA is as good as first presented. Although they are ranked in top 25 I'm not sure I've watched enough teams play to say whoI think is the top 25 teams.

It's still early in the season and we are going to see a lot more posturing before the NCAA tournament. It's going to be a fun season and would bet our Cats are going to be on top or "very" near come tournament time.

Arizona is a solid top 10 team along with UofL but I really haven't seen the Cards play. (not that I want to)

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-27-2014, 09:41 PM:

The Louisville game is there and is going to be huge. The Card fans are waiting for that game and it would make their season if they could upset us.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-27-2014, 09:50 PM:

I'm hoping Ohio State puts them in their place before they ever get to us!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-27-2014, 09:55 PM:

The only game I care about Louisville playing is us. It's a rivalry game and probably the best rivalry game in the country.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-28-2014, 07:59 AM:

I'm sure that will be the only UofL game that I watch from start to finish.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 09:41 AM:

I like to watch them all because of our depth and near the end of games that we are way up we get to see the players who don't get the minutes and it's fun to see them play. A couple of them are plenty good enough to be playing on teams that aren't that good and need better talent.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 12:12 PM:

I would bet there are a few Cat fans that watch many of all the good games that are on TV no matter if Louisville or Indiana for that matter. I know I do it just to see good basketball however when they play our Cat that's a different story.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-28-2014, 05:35 PM:

I'll watch good basketball all of the time I just refuse to watch UL or IU play. I did say GOOD BASKETBALL

Oklahoma did make 17-19 free throws which kept them in the game for a long time.

Michigan States Trice also had 5 assists and 5 rebounds and filled up the state sheet for MSU.

Valentine went 2-5 on his 3 pointers, good but not great.

THe Big Ten is going to be a strong conference again this year!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 10:18 PM:

We put Aaron or Booker on Valentine and he won't even go 2-5 from the outside. [Smile]

From what I have seen the SEC is not going to be very good at all.

There are 3 groups of teams this year.

1. UK

2. The wannabes

3. The rest of the pack

I had heard Arkansas might be pretty good but they are barely beating North Texas tonight.

They are wining 52-51 in the second half.

I like that BAma

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 10:25 PM:

They are a guard orientated team by getting 30 of their 57 points so far.

Why do you like Bama?

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 10:28 PM:

They won some easy games but lost to Iowa State.

Iowa State is no slouch and has a decent team.

Ark still leading by just 2

Arkansas runs a 3 guard offense and they are their best players.

There guards have scored close to 50 of their points in the game so far.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 10:35 PM:

A team like that could be tougher for us.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-28-2014, 10:36 PM:

A team will have to step out on the MSU shooters to keep them from beating you they are 11-19 from three point range!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 10:36 PM:

We have some good defensive guards though that will make it hard for them to get open looks.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-28-2014, 10:37 PM:

They are shooting 68% for the game.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 10:37 PM:

Like I say that is the meat of their offense and when they get hot they can be tough.

MSU has doubled up Marquette in points this half 30-15

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 10:39 PM:

Arkansas does all that and they win by only 4 to a so-so at best North Texas team.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-28-2014, 10:40 PM:

Our guards are taller than all of Marquette. They don't have a starter taller than 6'7

MSU is leading 65-49

Michigan State is always well coached and can beat a lot of teams but don't think the are a top 20 team.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 10:44 PM:

Marquette is average at best.

Ark now up 8

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-28-2014, 10:46 PM:

I'm not sure State is a top 20 team either

Wisconsin is the Big 10 team that could be real tough.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 10:49 PM:

I wouldn't want to play Wisconsin unless it was for the NCAA championship.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-28-2014, 10:49 PM:

No doubt Wisconsin returned the majority of a final four team from last year. They will indeed be tough to beat this year.

Schilling for MSU double dribbled before his dunk!

Bo Ryan is a heck of a coach and he will have his players ready for every game they play.

Ark up 11 at the under 4 minute mark

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 10:57 PM:

They gave us everything we wanted and more last year. I hope we never have to play one of Ryan's teams.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-28-2014, 10:58 PM:

Yeah Wisconsin will be strong inside and out.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-28-2014, 10:58 PM:

Right now they truly look like a final four contender. Wisconsin that is.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 10:59 PM:

Ark up 13 now and starting to pull away.

They should've been way ahead in this game long before now!

Qualls still with 22 points.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 11:01 PM:

Ark is shooting under 40% against a so-so team at best.

UCLA and UAB have now reached the mid way point of their game. UCLA up 27-16

I'm still not sure how Ark beat us last year. Much less both times.

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-28-2014, 11:04 PM:

Marquette is not going away it's a 6 point game!

Anderson is a good coach and he had them ready to play us.

Hustle will beat talent if there isn't a huge gap in the talent level. We should have a huge advantage in the talent level this year!

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 11:07 PM:

Not enough time though.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 11:09 PM:

There is no doubt on our talent level but I will never ever forget the West Virginia game.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-28-2014, 11:10 PM:

If you saw that game you have to say they out coached us by 20 points.

This year is a special season and we all are lucky to be Cat fans as it could be historic.

These early season tourney's are giving us the opportunity to see some of the better talent in the nation play against one another this early in the season.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-29-2014, 09:32 AM:

The schedule so far has not been that strong but in the near future that is going to change and that is going to be most helpful and make us a better team.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-29-2014, 09:47 AM:

You could see that Izzo is going to have his team ready by tournament time. The man can coach!

Posted by m hamilton (Member # 127) on 11-29-2014, 10:06 AM:

As deadly as his guards were from outside last night, only a in your face defense will beat a team like MSU.

Posted by catmandoo (Member # 1284) on 11-29-2014, 10:30 AM:

The good thing is you stop their guards and it pretty much stops their offense.
