He must have been one sick cookie over the weekend.

Junior Alex Poythress did not play for the second straight game Sunday because of illness but he was back in street clothes on the bench Sunday night.

He’ll practice tomorrow, so he should be good to go on Tuesday,” Calipari said after Sunday’s win. “Or Wednesday. What day of the week is that? Tuesday. What day of the month is it?”

Kentucky hosts UT-Arlington on Tuesday night.

Same for freshman guard Tyler Ulis, who did not play with his scheduled platoon to start the second half before eventually coming into the game.

Was there something wrong with Ulis?

“Somebody hit him in the leg with a chair. Like one of the managers. Who got fired, but, you know, he didn’t –,” Calipari joked.

He had a decent game with 9 boards and led the Cats in blocks with 4.

Yeah, the little things he does besides scoring are what make Poy so valuable!

You add all those little things up and you realize why is where he is.

Oh I would definitely call Poy my glue man. He's now playing with his 3rd different group of players. HE knows exactly what the coach wants by now!

I still wonder if he doesn't stay another year and work on his masters. His education is very important to him.

It wouldn't surprise me. He's a very intelligent young man!

If I'm not mistaken he is real "close" to a 4.0 grade point average.

He's majoring in Business Administration

Hopefully next year he will be playing on a NBA team.

If that's what Alex wants to do, then I hope he is too.

He has the body and athletic ability to play in the NBA but does need to be more aggressive.
