Floreal already can see just how good this freshman class is.

E.J. Floreal said he has also been impressed with the Wildcats’ freshman class.

“I think that they’re also really tough. They understand that they’ve got to battle or they’re going to get left behind. And they’re fun to be around, obviously,” he said.

A couple of individual assessments:

• Guard Tyler Ulis: “Tyler can really play. You hear when he’s coming in that he’s too small, that he’s not physical enough, and that’s completely false. He’s very smart, a good passer.”

• Guard Devin Booker:“Devin is one of the harder guys I’ve ever had to guard, just because he runs so well and he’s a great shooter. It’s always hard to guard a great shooter than can run just because you’ve got to chase them. You can’t leave them.”

• Center Karl-Anthony Towns:“He’s a monster. When he gets in that mindset that every board’s his and that he can do all that, it’s really hard to stop him.”
