Great to read how the twins are looking and playing better which is a great sign for the coming season.

Eric Lindsey of CoachCal.com has access to watch the summer practices as the Wildcats prepare for their August exhibition trip to the Bahamas.

He posted some of his insights this week about various players. Here’s what he had to say about the Harrison twins:

“Speaking of Andrew Harrison, and to a greater degree, the Harrison twins, they look great. UK doesn’t have official weights for them right now, but they look like they’ve slimmed down. As I alluded to earlier in the general team sense, they both just know what they’re doing now.

“You have to remember that both of these guys didn’t get to campus until late August last year. Calipari didn’t want to make it a big deal at the time, but it had a major impact on the early season. Nothing else works – at least not very well – in a basketball offense if your two lead guards are playing catch-up, especially with Coach Cal’s teams, and that’s what was going on for a good chunk of last season.

“Obviously the two caught on in March, and we all saw what the team was capable of then. I saw nothing Monday that would lead me to believe that rapid improvement was just a little March magic.”

Kentucky fans should pay attention to Lindsey’s observations. All summer many have speculated about what the Harrisons can’t do and if Andrew is the point guard to lead a national championship team even though he somehow managed to get UK into the national championship game as a freshman.
