This will be a big part if we win or lose the game.

Wisconsin’s disciplined offense — and veteran guards — will test Kentucky’s defensive patience in Saturday night’s Final Four matchup in Dallas.

“Great, great, great passing team, movement team. Keep you on defense. Make you stay in a stance. The minute you fall asleep — like if you have a lot of young guys, then somebody’s falling asleep. You got to play 30 seconds,” said Kentucky coach John Calipari.

Wisconsin and coach Bo Ryan also put a premium on defensive rebounding, another challenge for a Kentucky team that relies on offensive rebounding.

“They’re a defensive rebounding team. I would imagine their whole thing is gonna be, ‘They’re getting one shot at the basket and that’s it. They’re not getting offensive rebounds, and we’re all going in here,’” Calipari said. “Bo will probably have four days of scrum around the basket to make sure that we’re not offensive rebounding.”

Will it not be to our advantage to try and speed up the game? Don't let them get into any kind of flow. Hopefully Cal will switch defenses to try and keep them off balance. It will be an interesting matchup - between players and coaches.

Hope we don't get back-doored to death. Maybe mix up some zone defense in there?

Hard to do with freshmen who've shown a lack of fundamental defense for a large part of the season. Has their recent good play included better defense. I think it has and hope that we can show it against Wisconsin. It would be a bonus to have WCS back, but I'm not sure even if he could play if it would be at a level good enough to be a major factor.

Wisconsin will make you play defense for 30 seconds, so it's hard to remain alert for that long, especially against seasoned veterans.

My question is about Wisconsin's speed. Do they have the speed to keep our guards from driving into the lane? Because that's where we can do damage on offense. Hopefully we can get them into foul trouble and take advantage of that.

I don't see Cal switching defenses. He just doesn't of that much. I think we will need to, but don't see it happening. I think it is to our advantage to speed the game up. We need to get out and run when we can.

I keep seeing a lot of comments selling Wisconsin short. Saying they are small, except for Kaminski, slow and not good rebounders. I just hope the players don't get that in their minds.

I said last weekend I'd rather face AZ than WI. Those back-door cuts and back screens off the ball will give our guys nightmares. I would think a zone would be crucial at some point in the game, it doesn't seem to me like Young or Aa harrison can guard these smaller, quicker type players. Not to mention Someone will have their hands full with that big guy of theirs.

I've seen Wisc play numerous times this year. As others have said, for a Bo Ryan team, they are very athletic. No, they are not the athletes we have but still very good. On top of that ,they are very disciplined and have one of the very best coaches in the country, at least IMO.

If we sell them short or just don't play well, we'll get our butts handed to us a plate.

handy, only thing I can add to that is they very seldom beat themselves. They do not make careless errors and play very solid basketball.

Ryan is worse than Cal (was anyway) for benching players after one mistake. Maybe that's why they're more disciplined. But it could work the other way and cause them to play more tentative which would work to our advantage.

Bo Ryan is a fundamentalist and if "any" player tries and fails to catch a pass with one hand, out he comes and the players know it. He doesn't cherry pick either even if it's his best player and the game is close he still comes out. This kind of coaching has served him well and the reason all his players are fundamentally sound.

I have seen them take 3 point shots within 9 seconds of their opponent scoring, they did that in the NCAA tournament. This is not a typical slow it down type of Ryan team that makes you play defense for thirty seconds before shooting.

They have a very good team who statistically almost mirror our team. Our season statistics are as follows for those who like to compare such things:
