I just wish he would work as hard on his defense instead of his hair.

I also find it hard to believe that Cal wouldn't put his foot down on wearing shoes different than everyone else wears. If they are a team they should all look like it. I guess I'm getting old but I'm convinced if he had his Kentucky shoes on he wouldn't have slipped when he made his drive to the basket.

Kentucky freshman James Young had to make an unexpected equipment change early in Friday’s win over Kansas State.

“My shoe had a blowout a little bit, so I just had to put on my other shoes at a timeout,” Young said. “I think I was just stepping pretty hard and it twisted and just popped out a little bit.”

That brought out the colorful shoes he wore in the SEC Tournament title game against Florida — and slipped in as he was driving for a potential game-wining shot.

“I went from the Jordans to the Nikes I wore against Florida,” Young said. “It was all good.”

He already had a different look — again — with his hair.

“I am trying to get my dreads going. It is going to take a while, but I’ve started,” Young said.

He wasn't the only one wearing those dumb green shoes.

Bama, Like one guy said if he could knockdown his 3 point shots and play some lock down defense he could wear high heels and a poodle cut. [Wink]

I am no big fan of James Young. I think he plays much more for himself than he does the team and that I do not like. He has never seen a shot that he does not like.

He is the only shooter that shoots under 40% from the field, 32% on his 3 point shots and can't play defense that is still a possible first round draft choice. He needs a lot more work of his shooting and defense before he even considers leaving Kentucky for the NBA. It blows my mind that he is even thinking of leaving and the coachs would even think of letting him leave until he is ready.
