Yep, I had to depart the game around the end of the first quarter. The front of my right leg has a spot that bothers me when I stand a long time, 4 hours yesterday between 9-1pm. Felt like a knife sticking in my leg for about 4-5 seconds periodically. It wouldn't stop so I decided I was checking out early from my final game. Went down the ramp and told my supervisor and he got a stool for me to sit down and lean against the wall. As I sat there things got a little hazy. The next thing I knew the emergency people were all around me and they said I had passed out for less than a minute. They took all my vitals and they seemed to be close to ok after a couple minutes. I told them to take me over to the VA since it was close. I spent almost 6 hours there and they had a neurologist check me and he said he thought negative on the stroke since all my functions were normal and he said it was most likely the heart.

This is the third time this has happened in the last 8-10 years. They told me to get an echo-cardiogram and wear one of those heart monitors for a week and see what they tell us. My thoughts are something that I'm doing causes my heart not to deliver enough blood to the brain and that is why I pass out. Just like when you were a kid and you stick your thumb in your mouth and blow hard until you feel like you are passing out.

I feel fine soon after these episodes happen but somewhere between picking me up and dropping me off at the hospital they lost my credential to work, my UK hat and my glasses. Most likely they were left in the emergency vehicle. Now starts the search to find my glasses.

I watched the rest of the game this morning and it was good to be able to watch them play well for most of the game except for the fumbles and interceptions. Right now that was my last game to work mainly due to the cold and standing for long periods. I may decide to check on a seated job next year if they go back to picking us up with a shuttle and dropping us at the stadium. i WILL NOT WALK FROM THE PARKING GARAGE TO THE STADIUM AGAIN.

Bama, that sure doesn't sound good. The stabbing pain in the leg and the subsequent passing out... did anybody mention a possible thrombosis (blood clot)?

I am not a doctor, but it sounds similar to the symptoms of someone had a blood clot in their leg. that dislodged and moved through the veins and caused temporary heart blood-flow constrictions. It is also something that may happen repeatedly over time.

I hope you are well, and stay that way! But you might want to ask about a thrombosis. If nothing else, it will make you look like you did some homework. [Smile]

Thanks Tip. I have had this leg problem about 12 years. It started when I was working at Walmart for 2 years. I have given some thought about the blood clot but I thought more about sciatic nerve problem. It has bothered me only a little until yesterday when instead of feeling like pins and needles it felt more like a knife. I'm pretty sure something causes blood flow to the brain to decrease which causes me to lose conciousness. I will be calling my Dr. first thing in the morning to get that electrocardiogram and the heart monitor. I plan on wearing that heart monitor while I am getting the Christmas decorations down and getting the outside lights put up. If that don't show some stress nothing will. [Big Grin]

Bama, I think you’re wise to check into this further. Hopefully it is minor and nothing to be concerned about. I’m sure this is not the way you wanted to end your career at Kroger Field.

Bama Cat In 2020 I got weak when walking and especially when working heavy chores or prolonged ones outside.

My Dr sent me to have a Had a heart cart done which revealed that I had four arteries veins blocked - 85 to 95 %. As a result had to have a quad druple by-pass done.

Your symptoms sound familiar to mine. Blockage of the flow of blood to the heart.

Hope it isn't but in any event as others have suggested, a follow - up with a cardiologist might be in order.

Don't want anything to happen to our "on scene" football analyst!

Thanks for the concern. I found my glasses, cap and my badge. It was turned in to Katie who is the girl who is in complete charge of the football games including all of Kroger Field. I've known her for most of my 8 years here and she is a bright girl who has moved up from supervising certain sports to managing the football gameday this year. Seeing my doc tomorrow morning and have a couple specialists I want him to schedule me with. My daughter who is a nurse says its just too much stress with all the activities I am involved with, plus a wife with dimentia and a son with MS. Today was a very hectic day and I didn't even get to some of the stuff I'm doing. All I can say is oh well.

Seen my dr. today and he said we would get the Echo gram done on Monday and put the heart monitor on me and see what the results say. They said the nerve pain that was causing me problems with my leg could have caused my system to slow blood to the brain causing me to pass out. We're pretty sure that it was slow blood to the brain that caused me to pass out. Will just have to wait and see.
