A future Kentucky Wildcat shined at one of the most prolific high school football camps in America.
Over the weekend dozens of top recruits traveled to the west coast to compete in Nike’s top event for high school football talents, The Opening and Elite 11. The latter is designed for quarterbacks, while the former serves athletes of all shapes and sizes. Most of the attention from national analysts was on the top passers in the 2022 recruiting class, but one UK cornerback commit caught the eye of Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman.
Three-star Kentucky commitment Andre Stewart was really good in coverage as well. The Peach State corner had several pass breakups and consistently put himself in a good position to make plays all over the field, especially defending downfield.
Hailing from the Atlanta metro area, Kentucky was the first school to offer Stewart a scholarship. Recruited by UK’s Anwar Stewart, Tennessee and Michigan’s Steve Clinkscale have remained in the young defensive back’s ear since the one-time Auburn commitment pledged his allegiance to UK in March. The Wildcats will certainly need to actively recruit Stewart until he signs on the dotted line in December.
