Kentucky star running back Chris Rodriguez is one of the top returning players at his position going into the 2021 college football season.
In Bleacher Report’s preseason rankings of the top returning running backs in 2021, Rodriguez came in at No. 5 overall and No. 1 in the SEC.
“Chris Rodriguez Jr. missed late-season games against Alabama and Florida, so it wouldn’t be surprising if his hot finish went unnoticed outside SEC country. The sophomore rushed for 480 yards and seven scores in his last four contests,” BR’s David Kenyon said of the standout back. “Although the Wildcats used Asim Rose regularly at the same time, he’s leaving for the NFL. Rodriguez will be the unquestioned featured back next season.
“Left tackle Landon Young and center Drake Jackson are also headed to the NFL, but Luke Fortner (LG), Austin Dotson (RG) and Darian Kinnard (RT) are returning. That experience gives the Wildcats a strong foundation for their run-focused offense.”

Since they completelyleft Smoke out of the article they either don't know what they are talking about or they don't think he will be much help. Shame Shame. ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

He was injured most of last year but in 2019 his stats were just about as good as Rodriguez. I feel we will have 2 good experienced rusher this year, plus any newcomers that are good enough to get some PT.

It's going to be tough for any freshman other than injuries to Rodriguez or Smoke to see much playing time. It's great however that we have depth at the running back position for this coming season.
