Do you need help getting excited for the 2020 Kentucky football season? Thirty good minutes with Vince Marrow can quickly solve that problem.

Kentucky’s tight ends, coach, recruiting coordinator and NFL liaison joined the Behind Kentucky Football podcast this week to talk about how the Wildcats fared in the NFL Draft and what lies ahead. As always, the Big Dog brought the heat.

“All you’ve gotta do is look at the way we’ve recruited,” Marrow said. “The guys we’ve got coming back next year, this maybe could, on paper, potentially be our best team. Better even than the ‘18 team because we’ve got a lot of guys back. What it’s going to depend on is Terry (Wilson) at the quarterback position. But we’re going to have a lot of prospects that the NFL is going to be looking at next year. Next year will be like ‘18 where we could have seven guys drafted, easily.”

Those potential draft picks come from the trenches. Kentucky’s offensive line returns four starters, including Darian Kinnard and Landon Young, arguably the best offensive tackle combination in the SEC. There’s also a ton of talent on UK’s defensive line.

“You will be amazed at who the NFL looks at,” Marrow said. “Right now we’ve got guys like Phil Hoskins, Josh Paschal, Quinton Bohanna. Phil Hoskins and Josh Paschal are guys where you don’t have to take them off the field because they’re guys who can line up and stay on the field for third down. They’re twitchy enough and athletic enough to do that. It’s gradually coming. I like the future of our D-Line.”

The future is even brighter with Justin Rogers, Octavious Oxendine, Josaih Hayes and Tre’Vonn Rybka coming to Lexington as soon as campus reopens this summer. Those are just four more of the many reasons to be excited about what’s to come this fall.
