I've been busy with work and some family health issues the last few weeks, but I thought I should come on here and post a Congrats to Coach Stoops since I have been especially critical of him.
While I am still not completely sold on him, I do give him a world of credit for turning around the sinking ship that was this season. That is not an easy thing to do at all in season. Great job and hopefully he can continue to keep the momentum going as UK faces a little better competition to close the season. [ 10-31-2016, 06:12 PM: Message edited by: Trey Ball ]
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

If Stoops could have had the defense ready at the start of the season, they could've already been at 6 wins, at this point in the season..
The up side is that they are finally going to end the bowl drought. After an 0-2 start, I wasn't so sure.
Brooks had the same situation in year four. Brooks took Kentucky to the middle of the pack and had a streak of bowl appearances at the end. Joker dropped the program back to the bottom.
I am not happy that it took 4 seasons to get to a bowl under Stoops. With the facilities in place, he does not have the excuse that he has no support. This is a very young team, not many seniors. Next year could be 8 wins. They need to bring in better recruits to get to the next level. I am hoping that Stoops and staff can get a streak of winning seasons going and being in the top third of the SEC on occasion and in the middle, the rest of the time. Would be nice to see him eclipse what Brooks was able to accomplish.
Had Stoops missed going bowling, this season, I would have been furious at Barnhart for locking UK into such a crappy deal with SToops and his staff.

We're going to have to pick it up in the recruiting. So far the list includes only 2 four star players committed. The rest are 3 star and below.

When you play in the SEC to be competitive you better have some 5 star recruits to go along with a number of 4 star recruits.

You always want the higher ranked recruits. But, I don't think Snell was more than a 3 star. I wouldn't trade him for any other freshman back right now.
