My opinion

Ky will NEVER have enough talent to line up and play smash football i.e. ground game. Only chance we have is to play with a twist. Meaning AIR RAID and hope to upgrade our defense over time.

So far we talk about the air raid but really haven't executed it much at all. When we try to run one player a lot he gets hurt and we do not despite some who probably disagree have SEC deph at running back. (when have we ever had 3 deep skilled running backs)

Until our inept coaching staff figures that out we will continue our losing ways just as we have for the most part the last 60+ years. The ky's of the world can never recruit the way the other schools do (except Vandy and even they can beat us),

For some reason all of our former and the current head coaches think they are the "Bear" (except Mumbe sic and perhaps brooks) and with their skill will bring us to the top of the mountain.''

We need a spread offense passing offense mixed in with a cpl obvious running plays and perhaps we will get half way up the mountain!!

We have a crappy OC and not much better DC and the head coach lacks basic game management skills and yet we stayed with the same game plan all year which was a joke

Am I been too negative! [Confused]

Doesn't appear Stoops gets the message with his OC/DC guys as they are all out together recruiting!

from ksr

Mark Stoops, Vince Marrow, DJ Eliot, and Shannon Dawson made the rounds yesterday to check in on their 2016 commits to make sure they’re still all in after a disappointing season. Stoops, Dawson, and Marrow saw QB commit Gunnar Hoak:

imo To compete playing football in the SEC you have to have the best of the best players in the country. If your honest you know in the state of Kentucky we don't produce hardly any players good enough to play in the SEC. It's gotten to the point of playing terrible football all these years that none of the better players from outside the state of Kentucky wants to come and play for a team with the record we have had all these years. We have had plenty of good coachs that have tried and lost. True we have had a couple of good seasons, certainly not many and never for more than a year or two, in fact in over 30 years we have "never" lost less than 5 games in a season. Why all of a sudden do you blame it on one coach when no other coach in 30 years has done much or any better?

ok - Lets start with a 3.6 million dollar salary thru 2019- then lets go on to "give me 3 yrs" and we will turn it around and finally "we will be playing the air raid" and in fact put up stupid sirens to blow since we were going to score so much.

Not to mention the high salaries paid to the OC/DC's and not to mention also "we have the best collection of wide receivers ever" and how about "our offensive line will be great.

Bruce we as fans, only know what is being told to us. To get worse as the season progresses is grounds to get any head coach fired not once but two seasons in a row.

If your way of thinking is "blaming it on one coach" is wrong then perhaps fire Barhardt for giving him a "raise" after losing the last 6 games last year.

The buck has to stop somewhere - where should it stop in your opinion?

p.s. at least under Hal M football was fun to watch - not fun anymore ..

p.s.s. how come L-ville is so much better than us?? Do they out recruit us or do they out coach us? either way is unacceptable in my opinion!

We all have the right to our own opinions and that's the way it should be.

Charlie Bradshaw
1962–1968 25-41

John Ray
1969–1972 10-33

Jerry Claiborne 1982–1989 41-46

Bill Curry 1990–1996 26-52

Hal Mumme 1997–2000 20-26

Guy Morriss 2001–2002 9-14

Rich Brooks 2003–2009 39-47

Joker Phillips 2010–2012 13-24

Mark Stoops 7-17 2013-

Not one coach in over 40 years has a winning record and to be honest not even really close. Yet some continue to blame it on the coachs. Bear Bryant isn't coming back and even if did he probably would quit and head back to Alabama where the talented football players come from.

In my opinion it takes talented fast players to win in the SEC and Kentucky is not the place to find big fast talented players. All the above coachs couldn't sign them on a regular basis and the good ones moved on their own accord for greener pastures or were fired for lack of wins. It won't be long before Stoops is fired and another fine man will be hired and more than likely meet the same fate.

As far as the Louisville the only thing I can think of is that they must have far lower standards to get their players or they have skirt the rules when they sign them. They have lived on quickness and speed and it has served them well.

True but the university put a lot of money in upgrading the facilities, lots of money in coaches, WITH the expectations that we would do better.

We havent - so is the university stupid for doing that if we are going to go back and look at previous coaches records?

They (the university) expects a lot more than the product put on the field by this coaching staff that I am sure of (by the 3.6m salary).

They are getting crap for their investment and next year if we win 4 games we will be lucky as this was the year that everything was in place to go to a bowl.

Be prepared for mediocre football lead by a "to big of a buyout to fire" coach!

sorta sad dont u think?

Ed, don't you "ever" think any different than the way you do. Kentucky football drives us all nuts at times and we all have different pain tolerances for our football team. The Cats Domain doesn't have a bad poster and it feels like family even if we don't always agree and that's the way it should be.

Yeah, Ed, like you, we all get tired of seeing the same outcome on the field year after year. We get our hope up top have them shot down by mid October!
