With kicker Austin MacGinnis being a game time decision every week now due to a groin injury, Miles Butler has to be ready every week with the possibility of a starting position.
Saturday night, it seems Butler was more than ready. It is expected that nerves would come along with that kind of situation and not knowing until moments before a game where you stand, but Butler says it’s something he’s kind of gotten used to after the last 4 or 5 weeks.
Butler has performed impressively over the last few weeks when he did get the opportunity to start, but showing out against Charlotte, Butler was just short of hitting a field goal from around the 55-yard line in warmups. He nailed a 21-yard field goal in the first quarter, an impressive 46-yard field goal in the second quarter, and a 32-yard field goal in the third quarter.
It's unclear who will be starting against Louisville but regardless of who it is, Kentucky fans can expect some big plays out of our kickers.
