Now that the offseason has started for the majority of college basketball teams, the transfer portal is exploding with multiple impact players entering it each day.

With it, UK has seemingly found a new potential target each day, the latest being a Kentucky native.

According to the Twitter page of Kentucky AAU team Manimal Elite, Western Carolina grad transfer Mason Faulkner is being recruited by UK.

A Glasgow (KY) native, Faulkner was an All-Southern Conference Third Team selection after averaging 16.3 points, 5.5 rebound and 4.8 assists per game this past season. He scored in double-figures 19 times, including eight 20+ point outings.

Though he played in a smaller conference, Faulkner certainly looks like someone capable of making an impact at a blue-blood program like UK. However, with so many transfer options out there and UK vetting many of them, it’s unclear if the school is truly interested in Faulkner or simply doing its due diligence by looking into the Bluegrass Native.
