The Kentucky Wildcats have missed out on a lot of good basketball players in recent years. They have also missed out on some recruits with awesome names like Zion Williamson and JT Thor. There is an up-and-comer in the 2022 class that would fit perfectly into both categories, and he is high on Kentucky’s list.
Scoota Henderson is currently ranked as the No. 16 recruit in the 2022 class according to the 247 Sports Composite. He is also ranked as the No. 3 point guard in the country. Over the weekend, he led his team to victory over teams with two players ranked ahead of him, No. 1 point guard JD Davidson and the No. 2 overall recruit Mikey Williams. Henderson is really opening some eyes this winter, and he may be headed for a big jump in the rankings.
“He is very competitive, especially when the lights come on,” Travis Branham of 247 Sports told the Herald-Leader about his weekend performance. “Those were two major statement games. A lot of times you see elite prospects back down from those challenges. And Scoot was the opposite. He just answered the challenge, which is something you want to see out of those top prospects. You don’t want to see them ducking the competition.”
