Tis the season for high school basketball recruits to make a name for themselves.
It is usually around this time of year that guys you never heard of emerge onto the Division I recruiting scene, and middle-of-the-road recruits make moves toward the top 10. The newest name to come onto Kentucky’s radar is four-star guard Karim Mane.
Mane is ranked as high as No. 30 in the 2020 class by 247 Sports, but is currently not even ranked by Rivals.com. He has jumped 20 spots in the 247 Sports rankings in the last month.
After a strong weekend playing for UA Canada Elite, he secured scholarship offers from top schools like Kansas, Arizona State, Oregon, Oklahoma, Xavier, Texas, Illinois, Wake Forest, Maryland, Texas A&M and Seton Hall.
According to Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com, Kentucky has also recently began showing interest.
In two games with Canada’s U19 FIBA squad, Mane has put up 16.5 rebounds, six rebounds, and four assists per game. He is certainly raising his stock this summer, and hopes to start taking visits to schools soon.
At 6-5, Mane is one of the bigger point guards in the 2020 class. The only other uncommitted point guard in the class with an offer from Kentucky is Sharife Cooper, who seems destined for Auburn.
