The 12/10 Dawson Springs tornado wiped out the north side of town, including our church building, Resurrection Catholic. We are now having Mass in a heated metal outbuilding, about a hundred yards away, at a neighbor's house. We live in the southernmost end of town. We didn't have electric power, gas or water for several days, so we moved in with our daughter in Bowling Green until it was all back on. Did not have TV and internet until about ten minutes ago. The only thing we lost was two trash can lids. The Tradewater River is across the road and down a steep bank from our house. I expect they went into the river. Anyway, I am back up and running full speed.

It is the randomness with which these storms/events choose to leave their mark. The difference between total destruction and minor to no damage is often but a few feet, the "other side of the fence" if you will. The miracles of the difference of escaping bodily harm to minor injury and death are often described as a closet door, a mattress or just a blanket. The idea of "when God decides it is your time to go" rings so true with the many that were lost.

I think I speak for all of us here on TCD when I say that nothing can surpass the feeling of relief when we learned that Norm and Millie were unscathed by this tragedy. Unscathed in the physical sense only. We grieve just as much and with as much feeling knowing that you folks lost that which can not be replaced, your friends and losing what would have been with them had they survived.

May God bless and care for, give strength to, and guide as only He can those who are suffering in Dawson Springs, Ky and all the surrounding areas hit by this storm.

While we are not with you in body Norm, know that we are with all of you in Western Kentucky and other states hit by this storm in spirit.

It's when tragedies like these happen that makes you realize just how insignificant sports are. Even though our love of sports brings us together through the Catsdomain. I only know 99% of you through this website yet I consider y'all family. So when something happens to one we all suffer and grieve together. Norm I'm so glad that you and Millie are okay. I've prayed for you and every other member on here. Maybe 2022 will bring brighter days for us all.
