One of the offseason additions to the Kentucky football staff has paid off with an early win in the 2019 recruiting cycle.
Hampton, Georgia native Marquez Bembry committed to Kentucky on Monday after an official visit to campus. He was recruited to UK by new outside linebackers coach Brad White, who had previously coached with Bembry’s high school coach at Murray State.
“He felt like the coaching staff at Kentucky didn’t have to even try to sell him,” said Wayne Dabbs, Bembry’s former coach at the Mount Vernon Presbyterian School in Atlanta. “They basically were very honest with him, and he said it came very natural and he said he just connected with them really well.”
