After impressing at the Best of the Midwest Combine in February, Indianapolis Ben Davis junior offensive tackle Pompey Coleman had a succesful rest of the offseason that has carried into this season.
He has helped the Giants, the state's top ranked team, to a 2-0 start and his 6-foot-5, 275-pound frame and athleticism have drawn the interest of colleges.
"I think I'm a long, athletic tackle with really good feet, first punch, and ability to get to second level," he said. "I'm hearing from Kentucky, Purdue, and Miami (Ohio). I hold one offer from Alcorn State."
Coleman will make the trip to several of those schools this Fall.
"I'm going to Purdue on September 12th, Miami on the 19th and Kentucky on the 26th."
A state title is in his and his team's sights, and individually, Coleman wants to continue to be recognized as one of Indiana's best.
"My goals this year are to be named All-MIC and also named All-State."
