Never in my life have I seen such a parade of ridiculous ideas posited as "progress". If we pay "reparations" to criminals, then we have lost the single thing that unifies us as Americans -- equality under the law. I say "criminals" in the very literal sense. They knowingly violated our laws to come to this country, and continued to violate them by staying here. Yes, many or almost all of them may be hard-working, decent people, but that doesn't erase the fact that they are criminals. And now, our drunken elites want to pay them a king's ransom as reparations. Reparations for WHAT? What harm, exactly, is being remedied? I am content to allow those who have settled here illegally and lived good, decent lives to remain. But that is all. No "path to citizenship". No "automatic green card". And NO REPARATIONS. They came here to escape a bad life, and build a better one. They remained here, one would assume, because they succeeded. They have suffered no harm, no damages, only gain.
