alert to injustice in society, especially racism.
"we need to stay angry, and stay woke"
I had never heard of this word/term used in this way until yesterday.
I had remarked to Mona that I was getting tired of these commercials we see numerous times each day depicting interracial couples, same gender couples and even transgender couples. She said they were trying to portray the new “woke” philosophy and then explained the meaning to me.
There are so many of these commercials that I’m beginning to think couples of the same race and opposite sex are in the minority.
All this is making me ashamed I married a
a person of the opposite sex that is also white.

Well, there are a few commercials that "torque my jaws" too. One I have "beeched" about here before, is the selling of gold and silver. If it is so much better than cash money, why do they want to sell it? The other one that really gets under my skin, is the fruits and veggies that have been dehydrated, powdered and put in capsules. Just how on God's green earth does that make them better for you than fresh fruits and produce? They must be selling a ton of it, or they couldn't afford all the TV air time. Why would ANYBODY fall for and buy that stuff? It shouldn't bother me but I'm getting old and cranky. I guess it's because I hate being lied to.

I've been trying to avoid buying anything that has a woke commercial. My philosophy is "get woke go broke", at least that's what I hope happens to all of the woke culture.

I was listening to a commercial while driving yesterday. One lady was saying "and my husband enjoys it too." and this other female voice comes in and says "yes, I agree it is helping me". They are even introducing gay and lesbian commercials on radio now.
