It is amazing that some cities go to such lengths to protect those who break the law. In some cases, not only have they broken our immigration law, but our criminal code as well.
What brings us to such a point?
Glad to see them trying to tighten down on such cities, but I doubt it will do any good.

I don't think anything will do much good until ICE starts going after the employers.
There was a raid on some chicken farms in Mississippi recently. Nearly 350 immigrants, almost half the work force, was arrested...and not one single charge against the employers.
As long as jobs are available for illegal immigrants they will keep coming....over and over and over again.

I’m for fair and humane treatment of everybody, both legal and illegal. I don’t see that being abused. It’s difficult for me to understand how anyone can justify illegals. Maybe Webster got the definition wrong when he put it in the dictionary.
Yes, I agree with what M&M says. There needs to be more equitable and possibly harsher punishment for those who knowingly hire illegals.

The illegals need to be punished, but MM is right, this behavior won't stop until the employers start to get fined PER illegal hired. $1,000 per illegal seems a good starting point.

There are penalties on the books, but rarely enforced.

I totally agree with punishing the employers … but apparently not any President has push for that to the extent I think they should !!! Not Bush, Obama, Clinton or Trump !!! How do we make our voices heard in this situation ??? I am clearly against illegal's staying in our country when they are caught … I have friends that came from other countries and went through the process to becoming an American citizen and it isn't fair to me or them to not make everyone do that or go back home !!! Don't even get me started on the illegals that are criminals !!! City and state leaders that provide sanctuary should be jailed also !!! It is the Federal Government's lawful place to take care of immigration and if the states and cities don't cooperate (political views) then those leaders should be fired just like you and I would if we broke rules our employer's have !!! If you don't like the rules or in this case the laws go do something else for a living … quit making a living off my taxes and payoffs from outside influences.
Time for term limits across the board … being a rep or Senator was never supposed to be a career job !!!
Ok... I will get off my soap box !!!

Mel,
You can stay on your soap box, but you have exceeded your limit on the use of exclamation points.

Ol Blue … that bill is a travesty if it goes through and with the House of Reps we have now I expect it to go through !!!
This one devastates me ...
“(6) SPECIAL RULE FOR VULNERABLE PERSONS AND PRIMARY CAREGIVERS.—In a case in which an alien who is the subject of a custody determination under this subsection is a vulnerable person or a primary caregiver, the alien may not be detained unless the Government shows, in addition to the requirements under paragraph (3), that it is unreasonable or not practicable to place the individual in a community-based supervision program.
“(7) DEFINITION.—In this subsection, the term ‘vulnerable person’ means an individual who—
Just one example …
“(C) identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or intersex;
So if you are straight you don't qualify and if you want to qualify all you have to do is tell them you identify as one of the above even if you don't !!!
Hmmmmmm This country is going to HELL in a hand basket !!! (sorry Tiptree … I had to use lots more !!!)
