IMO, legal. If you are against it for religious reason, fine, don’t do it.

Legal, under rational circumstances (which I assume most of them are).

Legal, we wouldn't let an animal suffer without putting it out of it's misery. Why should we let a human sufferer if there's no hope?

I, personally, couldn't do the deed. If there is a way that the person can be of sound mind and choose it for themselves and push some kind of button on their own, that administers the serum, that would be best.
I believe in DNR for elderly patients. Don't believe in keeping anyone on life support, including myself, if there is no hope of improving. If I am lucky to get into my 80s, I am going to tell my family to dnr.
Wouldn't even want to be the executioner for a death penalty sentence, although I am for the death penalty. I would prefer they bring back public hanging for criminals.

When I first saw it this morning I was thinking more along the lines of assisted suicide! I mean, seriously, you've caused minor damage to someone's property...it's not murder! Leave a note, knock on the door, do something halfway decent!! I've had a little time to cool off and feel much better now...can you tell?
As far as the ass whuppin' goes...not if I can avoid it, no way. Two things I know about ass whuppins'....they hurt like hell....win or lose, and you never know how they're going to turn out.

Here is a true story of assisted punishment or Karma for short.
A guy who lives out in the county had his mailbox damages several times by teenagers driving by in a truck. They used a ball bat, hitting it as they drove by.
The land owner got smart and put up a second mailbox, next to the one he used. The second one was filled with concrete. A week later, they drove by and the kid shattered his arm, while swinging the ball bat.
Very difficult to catch somebody late at night, especially when you don't know when they are coming by, but that doesn't mean you have to make it easy for them.

Remember the farmer who decided to scare off the people stealing his watermelons by putting up a sign saying "one of these watermelons is poisoned". He got up the next morning and saw where someone had written "now 2 of them are"!
Make sure the solution is not worse than the problem.
