Trump was correct. The liberals always file under an Obama appointed judge, to stop anything that Trump does. Hell yes, its political obstructionism. Judges are supposed to be impartial.

I have to say that the sites you link to drive me crazy with their ads and stuff. It takes 30 seconds for all that crap to load so I can read the damn article.
Grrrrr... the internet is gone all to hell.

I have my computer set to where it doesn't accept cookies.
That may be why you have so many ads to filter through. Not sure.

I trust Roberts about as far as I can throw him.
quote:
Roberts’ comments seemed particularly strange because he had never injected himself into a political debate before. In fact, Roberts sat quietly through President Obama’s 2010 State of the Union Address when Obama sharply attacked Supreme Court justices sitting in the audience for their ruling in the Citizens United case, which allowed unlimited political campaign contributions by unions and corporations. President Obama falsely claimed in this speech that the Citizens United ruling allowed massive political contributions by foreign corporations. It did no such thing. As the justices sat in the House chamber listening to his speech, President Obama embarrassed the court directly and fiercely. Not a peep from Roberts. Only Justice Samuel Alito quietly mouthed to himself “no, no” as Obama railed against foreign campaign contributions. Roberts has said nothing about Obama’s remarks in the eight years since. So why did Roberts attack President Trump on Wednesday? Well, Trump is not a Democrat. Many believe that Roberts caved to political criticism by President Obama and his Democratic cohorts in a case where Roberts was the decisive vote in a ruling that found ObamaCare was constitutional – a historic victory for Democrats. Roberts clearly accepted the claim by Democrats in that case that the Supreme Court could not overturn ObamaCare or the high court would forever harm the republic and subvert the legislative process and the will of the people. It is widely believed that Roberts changed his vote at the last minute to stop the Supreme Court from overturning ObamaCare in that landmark case because of pressure from outside forces directed against him. quote:
I find it funny that he would attack Trump but never said boo when Obama was attacking the Supreme Court itself. Trump is totally right, all these anti Trump cases start with the ultra liberal 9th circuit. [ 11-22-2018, 11:14 AM: Message edited by: SCWC ]

Roberts might have been an OK nominee, but he has been a disaster as Chief Justice. He has very thin skin, and caves to pressure.

Tip, Really shameful that he voted for Obamacare as a tax when he knows it has zero to do with anything relating to taxes. It is a forced purchase of a product, period.

Since when has Kavanaugh caved to pressure. He has an impeccable record of the Circuit court in DC and has had not Supreme Court rulings thus far that I have heard of. All we can do is hope that he is a better conservative than Roberts turned out to be. The Bush family do not have a very good record of nominating conservative judges, just look at Sutter who was installed by Bush Sr and of course young Bush nominated Roberts. The man froze like a popscyle when ask if he would personally support an FBI investigation into to the "outrageous" accusations against him. If not for Lindsey Graham, Brett Kavanaugh would not be on the SC today

The democrats tried to totally destroy the lives of Kavanaugh and his family. I can understand his losing his composure to some extent under those circumstances. Amazing that the accuser of him could not remember who took her to the party, who took her home etc but could remember that he tried to rape her and it affected her grades two years later when she was in her first two years at UNC. What about her last two years of high school, the republicans did a p poor job of questioning her on many things and she ended up being a millionaire for her efforts on their behalf. I hope the Republcian party never stoop to such unsavory tactics to block anyone from any government position. He did not cave even under those extreme circumstances.

No disrespect intended SCWC...but if your family is embarrassed because of what you do...it's not somebody else's fault. [ 11-22-2018, 05:51 PM: Message edited by: MountainMafia ]

MM u must not have watched the hearings at all to make the silly remarks (questions) that u have purely to elect responses fm others like me on this board. You never enter facts but instead ask questions hoping to entice others to get riled up. Your strategy is beginning to wear thin btw..

No one but liberal democrats really believed Kavanaugh was guilty of what Ford accused him of doing. He has two young daughters, false charges like she came up with on him had to be a major embarrassment for him and his family. His life will never be the same because of unproven, false allegations by the democratic party against Justice Kavanaugh. How can anyone prove or disprove such ridiculous allegations as Professor Ford put on Mr Kavanaugh.
Again MM, you are condemning a man for something that apparently never happened over 35 years ago. Only liberal democrats followed that line and I don't really think too many of them really believed the woman, it was all politics, the ugliest kind. [ 11-22-2018, 06:47 PM: Message edited by: SCWC ]

Not at all...probably no one outside of Kavanaugh and Ford will ever know for sure what happened 35 years ago...it's literally a case of he said, she said.
I just don't think he handled himself very well during the hearings, his volatile temperament and obvious partisanship left a lot to be desired.
That's the only point I was trying to make...nothing else.

I couldn't agree more.

I thought he handled himself just fine during the hearings myself. The witnesses that Mrs Ford gave did not back up her claim so it is not a he said, she said situation. It was totally made up by the California wing of the democratic party to try to derail the appointment of a federal judge to the Supreme Court and it turned out to be a bad thing for the senate democrats who ran for reelection. Only one, Manchin from West Virginia got elected of those in Red states that had gone for Trump and that was because of their positions on Kavanaugh.

It's obvious that Kavanaugh was a hell raiser in high school and college...no problem... I can totally relate to that....it's obvious Kavanaugh liked to drink...no problem.... I can totally relate to that.. He drank to excess...been there, done that . It's also highly likely he did and said some things he does not remember....been there, done that too.

We need stronger libel laws in this country. The press should be held to a higher standard than they are as well.
A man can be convicted and sentenced in the court of public opinion, with the media piling on him and it doesn't take even an elementary education to see through the BS.

I'm not opposed to Kavanaugh being on the SC...I'm not. He's a conservative...if not him then another conservative would be appointed. Like I said, if you want to appoint judges then win elections...period.
The confirmation process, however, has gone to hell. From not even giving a nominee the decent courtesy of a hearing to the partisan debacle we just witnessed.

A professor at a Catholic university was forced out, after questioning the validity of a Kavanaugh accuser.
Liberal professors are protected. Professors who have sane thoughts and believe in calling out liberals do not have the same luxury of free speech.

We are woefully divided, SCWC....never seen it this bad in my lifetime....I just don't know what it is going to take to get our "leaders" to work for what is best for the country instead of what's best for their careers.
I can remember when the biggest arguments on this board was about Tubby Smith....seems like ancient history.

Tubby stayed two seasons too long. Not sure why anyone liked him. I judge my basketball coaches by final fours and if they have a shot to make the final four every year.
Not sure why anyone was for Keeping Tubby.
Billy Clyde was uniter of the fan base. Everyone could agree that he was garbage and the the AD made the worst decision of his career.
