I'm officially changing my stance on immigration. I now believe that anyone wanting to come to this country be allowed to do so. The ultra left has finally convinced me.
One caveat. The proposed immigrant would be sponsored by a U.S. Citizen. I would assume this sponsor would be a liberal. The sponsor would assume all responsibility for housing, medical care and a decent living standard. He/she would ensure that the individual was given aid to help pass the U.S. Citizenship Test, become proficient in the English language and be held accountable for any crime that was committed by the immigrate until citizenship had been obtained. The sponsors would recieve no help from the government.
We need to learn to compromise and I feel this would be an excellent first step.
I will be passing this along to Dick Durbin as he is my Senator and seems to want to allow anyone in our country. I feel certain this will be well received.

I'll second that motion. My guess is, about 7 people will be eligible.

Great compromise Handy, you nailed it. What we see happening right now is basically an invasion of our country from criminal countries in South America. Something has to be done to stop this and hopefully we can get our immigration laws changed to get rid of catch and release and chain migration. Some studies now show that there may be as many as 30 million illegals living in this country, that is a lot of people. Liberals see these people as potential democratic voters and for that reason do not want immigration laws to change. We have several RINO republicans that feel the same way though. We might have the worst immigration laws in the entire world.
