Kentucky Wildcat will get another shot to make and NBA roster, as Jonathan Givony of ESPN reports Ashton Hagans will be joining the Toronto Raptors summer league squad.
Hagans was undrafted out of Kentucky in the 2020 NBA Draft. After the draft, he almost immediately signed a two-way deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Playing for the Iowa Wolves, the G-League affiliate of Minnesota, in the G-League bubble earlier this year, Hagans was ultimately released due to the breaking of COVID-19 Protocols.
The former SEC defensive player of the year will look to make an impact for a Raptors team that might be getting ready to start a little bit of a rebuild, if they don’t return Kyle Lowry this off-season. Which could be the perfect opportunity for Hagans to get the kick-start to a successful NBA career.
