With the 29th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, the San Antonio Spurs have selected Keldon Johnson, who becomes the third Wildcat selected tonight.
This was later than Johnson was expected to go, as most experts projected him to be selected within the first 20 picks with an outside shot at being a lottery pick. Now it’s on Johnson to show NBA teams they made a mistake not taking him sooner.
As a true freshman, Johnson started in 36 of 37 games while averaging 13.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Both of those marks ranked third best on the team. He shot 46.1 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from long range, while draining 45 3-pointers on the year.
