He signed himself a nice big contract with the Chicago Bears.
It doesn't seem like that long ago when Danny Trevathan came to UK as an unheralded two-star recruit during the Rich Brooks era.
He would then slowly develop into an All-Conference linebacker and follow in what's been a strong line of backers to come out of Lexington. He also helped UK end the dreaded streak against Tennessee, and my favorite memory of him is watching he and his teammates celebrating that win, which was his final game in Lexington.
But few former Cats at any position have landed an NFL contract like what Danny boy is about to get. The top linebacker to hit the open market this offseason is reportedly close to signing a deal with the Chicago Bears for around $7 million per season. This comes after a great stint with the Denver Broncos that ended with a Super Bowl win last month, so it's safe to say Trevathan has it all going for him right now.
Congratulations to Danny on being another example of an under-the-radar recruit working his tail off to become a multi-million dollar success story.

Love stories like that, especially when it involves one of our Cats.

Norm, When Trevathan played for the Cats he always over achieved and played as hard as any Cat we have had. Happy for him too.
