Poor on-the-ball defense and rebounding killed us.
The same refrain we have bemoaned all season.
Unless we come out hot shooting every game, we will have a short run in the NCAA.

What strikes me is we seem to win the games we should lose and lose the games we should win.

I agree with both comments. I think we need to grab Pitino back. He always could beat Calipari when he was here.

Before you do that, let me set up a VIP escort service. I'll make a killing.

This team is a puzzle to me. We can’t blame it all on inexperience. We have two seniors and two sophomores who get significant playing time.
I complain about the amount of points we give up but I think that, at least in part, is due to our pace of play.
I know many place all the blame on the coach. Perhaps they’re right.
Oh well, I enjoy watching this team play and will be with them until the bitter end, whether that’s another early out or a deep run. [ 03-17-2024, 07:44 PM: Message edited by: handycat ]

There are sooooo many ways one could take this.
All hilarious.

If you haven't looked yet, just consider this.
He said he wanted to speed the game up and he has just done that.
He said he had enough 3 point shooters we were going to be shooting 20-40 3 pointers a game and he has fulfilled that.
What he has not done is follow his own rules for teaching new recruits how to play defense.
Not counting our bigs we have next to no defense, unless they decide to play it on their own.
We didn't notice it much when we were in the pre SEC schedule, except for KS, UNCW and Ganz.
We appeared to play less and less defense as we got further into the schedule until lately we were playing next to no defense and concentrating on taking more 3's.
I think it's too late to start playing defense now.
My recommendation would for most of these guys start thinking more of playing defense than looking for the green as soon as we lose our next game.
I am still holding out in my belief that some idiot is doing all these 1st round projections for our freshmen. Don't say I told you so.
I know Cal is starting the highest ranked players from when the season started and he doesn't like to change his methods, but if he don't start Shepard, Dillingham and Reaves he'll find himself trailing against Oakland this week. [ 03-17-2024, 10:41 PM: Message edited by: Bama Cat ]
