This is from CBS Sports. Interesting take on Cal's guards.
Kentucky guards underwhelming in college and becoming stars in the NBA has been something of a regular occurrence, and Wallace profiles as someone who can keep that tradition alive. He didn't dominate as a freshman but he showed off a ton of versatility on offense while routinely making highlight reel plays as a difference-maker on the defensive side of the floor.

I don't believe that the guards would underwhelm in college if they would stay for more than one year. Can you imagine how good UK would be if the guards stayed 2-3 years.

I dream of the teams we would have had if more guys stayed 2 years, let alone 3 or 4.

The verification of that is looking at past guards who stayed for 2-4 years. It's only recently since Cal arrived that this has started happening. I believe if we check we will find that Tubby, Pitino and Hall had some good guards who made it in the NBA and played more than 1 year. [ 04-21-2023, 11:04 AM: Message edited by: Bama Cat ]
