I am an old fan and miss seeing Kentucky high school basketball players playing for UK. I think there is a different attitude between Kentucky high school basketball players who are playing for UK and other excellent players who are playing for UK. I think it means more for the Kentucky players to be playing for UK than other players. I believe that increases their enthusiasm.

I too would love to see some Kentucky boys getting significant playing time. Of late, that doesn’t happen. I’m not blaming Coach Cal, that’s just a fact.
I haven’t seen you around here for a while Dr Clyde. Hope you are doing well.

Handy, thanks for your response and concern for me. I did have a heart attack several months ago which hindered me somewhat, but I was also discouraged by the lack of enthusiasm from the ball team.

I think the recruitment of Reed Sheppard has energized the fan base A lot.

He can definitely deliver the ball to the open man as he proved.

Is Cal recruiting any other Kentucky high school players other than Sheppard?

Kid from Lyon County (I think his name is Travis Perry) has been offered for 2024. He said he was going to keep his options open. He would have some very stiff competition if he comes to UK. [ 07-31-2022, 09:14 PM: Message edited by: handycat ]

I watched the '98 game vs duke Friday and watching Cameron Mills and Scott Padgett knowing how much that game meant to them being from Kentucky made me wish that we would have one or two players on the team from the state of Kentucky every year.
