Mike Pratt the recent color man for Tom Leach lost his battle with cancer. He always complimented Tom very well in the booth!

Part of one of the best freshmen UK teams ever, 1966-67. Mills, Pratt, Casey and Issel. They were close to the last UK team that played when there was a freshman team. They were 18-2. I thought they went undefeated but that's how loss of memory affects you when you're 81 yrs old. They lost to the TN frosh by 1 point and to the Dayton frosh by 12. They scored o0ver 100 points in 12 of their 20 games. We should have had a championship during their 3 year reign but we did not. His is a great loss and he will be remembered by many. The first UK game I ever saw live had the four players Bama mentioned, it was played at Vanderbilt. Mike Pratt fouled out and some Vandy players came over to “console” him. He was having none of that. He may have not been our most skilled player, but IMO, we’ve never had a more hard nosed, tougher player than him. I had the privilege of seeing him play live one other time.
He may not have been one of our greats, but he will always be on UK’s starting five as one of my favorites.
I’m getting old and kind of sappy. Reading of his passing literally brought tears to my eyes. [ 06-17-2022, 08:13 PM: Message edited by: handycat ]
