All eyes in the BBN are on Kofi Cockburn.
Cockburn officially withdrew from the NBA Draft after not getting the kind of feedback he hoped for, and now is looking at his college options with Kentucky among the perceived leaders.
Cockburn, who is coming off a season where he averaged 17.7 points and 9.5 rebounds on nearly 65 percent shooting from the floor, went to Illinois in large part due to Orlando Antigua.
With Antigua being in Lexington now, could a reunion be on the way?
We don’t really have a timeline for Cockburn, but one would have to imagine a decision will likely be made soon. Wherever Cockburn decides to go, he would probably like to get on campus soon to begin building relationships with teammates, working out, etc.
The 7-footer becomes an immediate impact player wherever he lands, as a guy who is essentially a walking double-double and will command double teams when he’s on the floor.
Imagine teams having to decide between crashing in on Cockburn or leaving CJ Fredrick, Dontaie Allen, Kellen Grady, TyTy Washington, or others open on the perimeter when matching up against the Cats.
Hopefully that’s a problem opposing defenses will have to try to solve when going up against Kentucky next season.
