I am glad that Cal is being very active in the transfer portal, but wow. This hurts.

I hope Cal can compensate. I really liked Hickman's game. The Georgia transfer may be a "MUST HAVE" now.

I've been waiting for this to happen for a while now. Hickman was not on Cal's original want list, like so many he has taken in past years. I'm feeling that the reason Hickman moved up to the 4th best PG in the class is because UK signed him. I also think Cal has told him how tough it's going to be on PT for him next season with the PG's he plans on getting. Also, Barbee left and you never know how much these kids are attached to the coach that recruits him.

I am getting a very positive vibe that we will be announcing 2 new coaches very soon which could help us bring in a couple of top PG's possibly way better than Hickman as far as experience. Do you suppose Cal has learned a lesson that experience and shooting % is better than athleticism.

I am feeling that Mintz will see that staying another year will allow him to get the higher degree he is working towards. If he does that we only need 1 more PG, but we may be able to convince a third PG to come on board the way Cal plays two PG's a lot of the time.

I think we will all be surprised how well our roster gets now.

Hickman is the fourth-ranked point guard in the Class of 2021, according to the 247 Sports He was recruited to Kentucky by Tony Barbee, whose recent departure may have played a role in the decommitment; in addition to Calipari seeking other point guard options in the transfer portal. Now Calipari needs two point guards from the point guard market, and Hickman’s decommitment may mean he is aware of Calipari’s plans for the position.

Don't think this will set us back at all. Cal will fill the PG position(s) with some experience.
