As one coach put it, two of Kentucky’s “stars,” BJ Boston and Olivier Sarr, have wilted under the spotlight thus far.

“They’re struggling offensively like a lot of us. If Brandon Boston Jr. goes pro he’ll never be a great player. He’s too soft, he doesn’t shoot it great, he’s not physical. He needs to come back another year. Devin Askew is not a break-you-down point guard who creates for others. They’ve always had that guy. Boston is super talented, but I’m not sure he really understood the pressure-cooker he was signing up for. They’re struggling to shoot the ball so everybody collapses in the paint and says, ‘I’m not gonna go out there and play you.’ That puts enormous pressure on your defense. Olivier Sarr’s issues are more psychological than physical. He’s under a lot more pressure than he was at Wake Forest.”

Yep. And now, our one hope for a spark has been extinguished, with the news that Clarke is out for four more weeks.

That means he will not play again at UK.

We are what we are, a team without the inner strength OR the physical strength to win.

Been a rough time for me since November, with government overreach because of COVID, the whole election mess (no, I won't go into a rant here), and the collapse of UK basketball.

I believe there is a lot we don't know about this team. For one, someone mentioned some time ago that Clarke probably would never play again for UK because he didn't want to hurt his draft status. I am starting to believe this and that Cal knows what is going on. I f he came back and played and didn't look any better than Boston or some of the others he wiould be hurting his draft status. It's a shame we have thoughts like this but I'm only going on what Cal has emphasized since he's been here. "This is a ball players college first and we work to make them ready for the NBA (in my own words). Thus it leads me to think what I think.
