Before Saturday’s matchup with the Florida Gators, Kentucky Wildcats guard Dontaie Allen had averaged over 18 points per game over his last two contests.

While he managed to see the floor for 22 minutes on Saturday, the freshman managed just six points on 2/5 shooting. He did, though, net back to back three-point shots in the first half to spark a 10-0 run.

Allen didn’t showcase outpour of scoring the many expected him to continue, but the trust from head coach John Calipari (22 minutes of action) is promising as the team moves forward.

In fact, Calipari sent out a tweet Monday praising Allen for the impact he made in the big win over Florida. But it wasn’t for Allen’s offense.

Instead, Calipari praised Allen for the very thing that was keeping the Pendleton County product from playing more: Defense.

Glad to see Cal giving some love to Allen’s defense. Hopefully, that means more minutes on the floor. We certainly need his 3-pt shooting.

Either "A Sea of Blue" is dangerously short of editors, or they are now endorsing Ebonics. That sentence is not English.

Tip,
this is not about basketball, but about your post with the word "Ebonics". I don't know what that word means.
However, I am on the phone right now with a national company and I cannot understand the language of the person I am speaking with. I am really tired of having to try to understand a person on some national
company phone who has an accent I can't understand.

Hi Clydeh,

You can expect more and more of the accents on customer service. It is one of the first and easiest things for companies to "outsource" to foreign companies.

Oh, and "Ebonics" was the term applied to the variant of English spoken by urban blacks. The name is derived from "Ebony".

That is a new word for me.
