Every offseason at Kentucky is met with a revolving door of players coming and going, but expectations never waver. After a convincing 81-45 victory over Morehead State in the season opener the expectations seemed to take an additional leap as fans and media were salivating at the athleticism and defensive potential of this team.

Fast-forward to Sunday afternoon and the Wildcats got humbled by a veteran Richmond Spiders squad. Kentucky will have no time to feel sorry for themselves though with a game scheduled for 9:30 p.m. tomorrow evening against Kansas.

Can Kentucky watch the film, take some criticism, and use the Richmond loss as a learning experience? Or, will there be finger pointing in the locker room and guys playing “hero-ball” on Tuesday thinking they need to take the matter into their own hands? With a team full of younger guys it is impossible to say how they will respond until the ball is tipped in Indianapolis tomorrow night.

We may not know how they'll respond to this loss short-term. Hopefully they hate to lose and realize it's total team effort that it takes to win. Cal has his work cut out for him to bring it all together. Will there be enough games, time? Who knows. First two games I've seen nothing but good attitudes and willingness to learn from these young players. As someone said "The sky's the limit" for this kind of raw talent. Go Cats!
