Kentucky signs so many highly-rated freshman every year that it's relatively easy for one to slip through the cracks in terms of expectations.
The will he or won't he back and forth over Olivier Sarr's transfer waiver has allowed Isaiah Jackson to fly under the radar this preseason.
The UK freshman forward received more praise from assistant Jai Lucas Monday.
"He is a special, special shot blocker," Lucas said. "I think he is probably one of the ones that is going to surprise a lot of people this season, just how he’s been playing and his development from the last time that I saw him and where he is today. I think he is a name that people will start to talk about and mention as we start playing games."
Lucas' comment comes on the heels of CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein also hearing good things out of Jackson early on.
"Well embedded moles in Lexington continue to highlight Kentucky freshman Isaiah Jackson," Rothstein tweeted. "Going to have a big role for the Wildcats, regardless of whether or not Olivier Sarr is eligible."
