Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt spread: Kentucky -12 Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt over-under: 144.5 points Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt money line: Kentucky -817, Vanderbilt +533 UK: Is sixth nationally in free-throw percentage at 78.7 VAN: Is averaging 72.7 points per game Why Kentucky can cover The Wildcats, coming off a 77-64 win at Tennessee, have won seven straight over Vanderbilt and 10 of the last 11 meetings. They defeated the Commodores 71-62 at Lexington, Ky., on Jan. 29. In games played at Nashville, Kentucky has won six of seven, including three in a row. Overall, the Wildcats have won six of seven and 10 of 12.
Sophomore guard Immanuel Quickley continues to pace the Kentucky offense, averaging a team-best 14.8 points per game. He also averages 4.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Quickley has scored in double figures in 12 straight games, including 23 at Auburn on Feb. 1 and 18 at Tennessee on Saturday.
Why Vanderbilt can cover Even so, the Wildcats aren't a lock to cover the Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt spread. That's because the Commodores usually play the Wildcats close. Six of the last seven meetings with Kentucky were decided by nine points or fewer, including one by two points and two by six points.
With sophomore forward Aaron Nesmith out indefinitely with a right foot injury, junior guard Saben Lee has paced the offense of late and is averaging 16.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He has scored 20 or more points in three of the past four games, including 33 in a 99-90 win over LSU on Feb. 5. He scored 21 points in the first meeting against Kentucky.

I would definitely take Vandy and the 12 points. Unless UK is shooting out of their minds they can't beat Vandy by 12 down there. Famous last words!

Our strong inside play, something lacking for Vandy, should be the deciding factor. But too many times we play to the level of our competition. I hope not tonight. Go Cats!

Trailing by 9 at the half, I would say that was a pretty easy bet

Not so easy after we finally put one away in the final 3 minutes. I guess we lose with the odds. Just when we thought we had this team figured out.

How do you figure that we lost with the odds? We were favored by 12 and won by 14???

And last night was a great comeback. I think it showed a lot about this team. The second half defense was incredible!

We gotta stop giving teams a big lead on us. Down 14? To VANDY? C'mon..if that's a quality opponent in March, no way they let UK back into the game. Our guys have got to figure out how to keep games close and finish off an opponent when we get them down.

Vandy beat us the same way we usually get beat -- drive the ball and either score or kick it out to an open shooter. The first half they did that over and over and over.
We cam out the second half and "remembered" how to stay in front of the man with the ball, stopping the penetration into the paint (and when they DID get in the lane, Richards pretty much blocked everything. ). Simultaneously, they went cold from the arc.
We also started using their own playbook on offense, driving it at will and hitting open 3s. It was as if the two teams swapped places at half-time, only we did it better.
Reminds me of the old quote. "My boys can beat your boys, or I can take your boys and beat my boys".

One reason we are winning is the 1st 12 games we shot 26% fm 3 and the last 12 we are shooting 38% fm 3. Huge difference. We continue that way we will be hard to beat by anyone!

If we shoot 38% on our 3's the rest of the season we will win a lot of games. We currently average 33.30% which ranks 179th in D1 basketball. (350 teams) Louisville shoots 40.4%.and rank 4th best.
