Last night I turned on the Virginia/NC State game. As soon as I tuned in he refs were at the monitor reviewing a potential flagrant-1 elbow, which after seeing the replay, it was laughable that they were doing so. I said "screw this" and immediately turned to the W Va/Texas game. After watching two possessions, the refs went to the monitor to review a harmless rebound. Once again, I said "screw this" and turned on Family Guy.

If it isn't for the Cats, I can't really watch college basketball this year. The refs and monitor reviews are killing the game.

An announcer on some game this week that I watched, not sure who, had an idea I liked. He said when the ref went to the monitor they should put a one minute clock on him and when that time was up and they haven’t decided, the call should stand.

I think I would be in favor of some time limit.

By the way Paul, I see you are an intellect also. Only us really smart goys watch Family Guy.

I must be really stupid. I don't even know what Family Guy is! I have heard of it though. Hell, I might even know and just forgot.

That announcer who suggested the 60-second limit was none other than Dick Vitale.

I had to turn the sound off for long stretches of the game, because Dick has just lost it. He was entertaining and original back in the day, because he mixed real basketball insight with his unique lexicon and exuberance. But, now he just goes on and on about trivial matters, or discusses things not even remotely related to the game.

He was really agitated by all the reviews at the end of the game because he was hungry. Ridiculous.

I like the one minute time limit idea. There's no reason in the world why a college basketball game should last between 2 hours 20 minutes and 2 hours 30 minutes.
