Star point guard Ashton Hagans, a vital component of the Wildcats' plan during the 2019-20 campaign, is a proud benefactor of Kentucky's strength and conditioning program evidenced by a new practice photo that is going viral out of Lexington.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 192 pounds via Kentucky's official roster, it appears a now shredded Hagans has added several pounds of muscle in the past few months courtesy of this before and after picture from Shawn Smith, founder of Go Big Blue Country:
The top-ranked point guard in the country in the 2018 signing class per the 247Sports Composite, Hagans' playing weight upon his arrival with the Wildcats was around 180. After a season of healthy eating and an improved workout regime, Hagans' chiseled frame has taken form.
Former ESPN college basketball analyst Andy Katz recently labeled Hagans as the SEC's most important returning player next season.
"The Wildcats have a rare returning point guard and that’s why Kentucky is one of the teams projected to go on a Final Four run," Katz wrote. "Hagans emerged as the leader midway through the season and embraced the role. His numbers in all areas should increase, and as long as turnovers don’t as well, Kentucky will have the lead guard it needs to shepherd in another elite recruiting class."

I do thinks Hagans is a first rounder and will show his dominance this coming season. He should have been a high school senior, last season. Guard play got them beat int he tourney, last year. I don't see that being an issue, this year.
I do think Cal need to get the best juco PG or a the best juco scorer he can find, every year, to help with the youth of his teams, at tourney time.
