Blackshear or McDaniels.
Me I would take Blackshear A one and done senior with tons of experience vs a one and done freshman. Seems like no contest? [ 05-13-2019, 04:57 AM: Message edited by: ukcatfannfl ]

Even though he fell a little bit in the rankings. I still like the comparisons to Durant. If he is even 3/4 of what Durant was at Texas, with the guys we got coming in. Watch out!
I would not be mad at Blackshear either. Who is to say we don't get both. If we did I could smell a platoon coming.

I would have to agree if we got both I could smell a platoon coming. Maybe with one set getting more playing time than the other. I would also prefer the experience with Blackshear.

If we get both, no platoon would be necessary. We could "go big" for a change, with two forwards and a center on the court. Imagine:
Centers: Richards, Montgomery Forwards: Blackshear, McDaniels, Whitney, and that other transfer (name escapes me) guards: Maxey, Hagan, Quickly
We would be two-deep at most positions, but Cal can run them in and out and keep fresh legs like he did in 2012.

To the original question, if I was forced to choose, I would take Blackshear over almost any freshman.

Blackshear. No platoon even if Cal were to get both of them. He is on the record as saying he will never try to platoon again. The platoon seems to come up every year now, don't think we will ever see it happen at UK under Cal.

I'd take the freshmen, he's projected top five in the NBA draft next year. I'd never rule out the platoon system, if coach cal thought it'd be best for the players and not the team he'd do it.

I'd take Blackshear in a heartbeat. McDaniels may end up being a better pro, but I don't see hime being the type of player that we know Blackshear has already been for 3 years in college.
