John Calipari’s crew has reportedly agreed to a multi-game series with Utah, which will begin in this upcoming college basketball season. That’s according to a report from ESPN analyst and Utah insider Bill Riley.
Per the report, the Utes will play in Lexington this season before hosting UK in Las Vegas in 2019.
Kentucky is 9-2 vs Utah in their series history, with the last win coming in 2005. The series dates back to 1944 when Kentucky defeated the Utes 46-38.
Utah is coached by Larry Krystkowiak, who will be entering his eighth season at the helm. He’s led Utah to the NCAA Tournament twice so far in his tenure, and fell to Penn State in the 2018 NIT Championship Game this season.
Although it hasn’t always translated to NCAA berths due to a lackluster Pac 12, Krystkowiak does have the program in a good place. Utah has won at least 20 games in five consecutive seasons.
